Christmas cheer comes alive at the Nixon Library with a spectacular tree lighting, live music, Santa Claus, and an evening of holiday fun for the whole family.
The story of Christmas in America is intertwined with the story of the nation itself. In the winter of 1776, George Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware River on Christmas night in a daring effort that would become one of the most iconic moments of the American Revolution. From the earliest days of the Republic through the Victorian era and into the modern American Christmas, generations have celebrated the season through music, traditions, community and a distinctly American spirit.
Enjoy a festive evening featuring:
- Christmas Tree Lighting: Gather for a special ceremony to begin the evening.
- Presidential Photos with Santa: Capture a special Christmas memory in the Oval Office.
- Santa's Reindeer: Meet Santa's reindeer up close.
- Live Holiday Music: Enjoy performances by the Huntington Beach Concert Band.
- Christmas Carolers: Hear traditional favorites performed by the Dickens Carolers from Foothill High School.
- Elvis Presley Tribute: Enjoy a special holiday appearance by the King of Rock 'n' Roll.
- Holiday Food and Drinks: Warm up with hot cocoa, light bites, Polly's Pies' famous Backburner Soup, and a no-host bar.
- Nixon Library After Dark: Explore the museum galleries and enjoy a candlelight stroll through the gardens.
- America 250: A More Perfect Union: Experience the Nixon Library's special exhibition before it closes!
The festivities begin at 4:30 PM with food trucks and Chick-fil-A available at the Nixon Library entrance.
